Description
The Dial
The matte black dial of this Omega Speedmaster remains faithful to the classic Speedmaster layout—high contrast, highly legible, and built for function. The triple-register chronograph design features a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and a running seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, all framed by Omega’s signature white baton hands and luminous hour markers. The printed OMEGA Speedmaster Professional text sits proudly on the dial.
The Case
At 42mm, the stainless steel case fits most wrists, as the black bezel trims the overall size visually down. The Hesalite crystal, a hallmark of the traditional Moonwatch, gives the watch its warm, vintage charm while ensuring durability. The solid screw-down case back bears the famous NASA engraving, stating its status as “Flight-Qualified by NASA for All Manned Space Missions” and “The First Watch Worn on the Moon.”
The Movement
Powering this Speedmaster is the Omega Caliber 1861, a manual-wind rhodium plated chronograph movement.
A true classic in every sense, the Speedmaster Professional 145.0022 from 2000 bridges the gap between vintage and modern. It remains an essential piece for collectors who appreciate the watch’s connection to space history, its timeless design, and the legendary movement that powered Omega’s chronographs for over three decades.
