Vintage Omega Seamaster 2805-5 Two-Tone Dial 1956

925

Words fall short to describe this piece but I’ll try. Amazingly aged yellowish two-tone dial. The patina on this watch looks incredible and unique. The arrow indices combined with double-stick indices give this Seamaster a Constellation-esque dial layout. The reference is 2805-5 SC and the serial number of the caliber 471 automatic movement dates back to 1956 (15xxxxxx).

We paired this watch with a green alligator grain, cow-leather Rios strap which fits beautifully. The watch comes with an original Omega watch box that matches the period and has a silver lining detail paired to the stainless steel case of the Seamaster. The crown is original and the stainless steel case shows no signs of wear. The case-back has been polished a bit and shows a removable sticker.

Overall an amazing piece. Nothing more, nothing less.

What we love:

-Amazing two-tone yellowish dial
-Clean steel case
-Rare and valuable dial configuration

What you should know:

-Case-back has been polished once, hence the removable sticker
-This watch has been checked on all functionalities by an expert watchmaker. No service was deemed necessary

OMEGA IN 1956

In 1956 something extraordinary happened. In the winter of 1956, Omega technicians put the Seamaster to an extreme test. They strapped it to Canadian pacific airways flight 302 which would land in Amsterdam and took the Polar Route. After almost 9 hours of extreme conditioning, the Seamaster was tested and all functions worked properly and it held time correctly. An amazing accomplishment for Omega once again.
