Vintage Omega Seamaster 30 135.003-62 SC 1962

A stunning, classic and timeless Omega dress watch from 1962 (serial: 19xxxxxx). This piece is in amazing condition. Freshly checked and runs immediately after winding it a few times. The caliber 286 manual wound movement in this piece is a real powerhouse! It has the characteristic crisping sound when winding, which brings you back 50 years in time and runs perfectly. The reference number is 135.003-62 SC.

Condition wise, this watch looks great. The case is sturdy and clean and the dial aged well and turned evenly yellowish which is only to be seen inside, outside the dial is white colored. The applied Omega logo and indices look untouched and the fonts match with other watches from that period. On the case-back the characteristic Hippocampus (seahorse) logo is to be found. Still perfectly visible and, other than a few scratches, the case-back looks incredible. The original crown is still attached and all functions work beautifully. Overall a perfect dress watch and all-round classic timepiece.

What we love:

-Runs immediately after winding it a couple of times.
-Beautiful and sturdy case.
-Classic, timeless and a true all-rounder.

What you should know:

-This watch was checked by an expert watch maker. The values were perfect so no service was needed.
-Small scratches on the case-back, nothing major.

Not many people know this but the Omega Speedmaster already went into space before it was officially qualified by NASA. IN 1962 astronaut Wally Schirra wore his personal Omega Speedmaster on the Mercury Sigma 7 mission. Schirra was a true space guy, he went on to record 295 hours in space, all of these hours he wore his Speedmaster.
