The Omega speedmaster is the most known watch made by Omega. Ever since its release in 1957 this gorgeous chronograph has been the grail watch for many watch collectors because of its clean and simple yet luxurious and precise design. This amazing watch has been worn by many famous astronauts like Buzz Aldrin who wore the Speedmaster for the first time ever on the moon and Ed White who wore it for the first time ever in space! With a wonderful history like that you can’t go wrong with a Speedmaster. The beautiful Speedmaster we are offering you here today is a honest condition 145.022 from 1981 (based on similar serial numbers)!

This Omega Speedmaster Professional was born in Switzerland around 1981 and runs on the well known and prestigious 861 movement made by Omega. This movement is a manual wound chronograph which was the replacement for the 321 movement Omega used in their first Speedmasters. This amazing movement sits inside a 42mm stainless steel case which houses a Tachymetre bezel, pump pushers, an Omega signed crown and a screwdown caseback with the hippocampus logo. The dial on this watch is a spectacular clean dial with lume and deep sunken subdials and contrasts greatly with the aged hands. To finish it off is the service stainless steel bracelet with Omega signed clasp which is still in great condition. The overall condition of this watch is excellent, with some very minor scratches on the case and a tiny bit of wear on the bezel. The case also had a CRS stamp on the caseback.

The watch in question, crafted in the early 1980s, is notable for its association with a new case maker for Speedmasters, C.-R. Spillmann et Cie (C.R.S.). From this period onward, the year ceased to be marked inside the caseback. Early 1980s models with cases made by C.R.S. are identifiable by the more flattened tops of their lugs, setting them apart from other versions.
