Vintage Omega Trésor 18K Gold 2897/2898 1956
The Omega Trésor line, first released in 1949, was created to suit the needs of people who were seeking a simple, elegant yet luxurious feeling design. Mostly created in precious metal this surely was a watch a connoisseur would be interested in. The timepiece we are offering here is exactly that! In 1956 this 18k yellow gold Omega Trésor came out of the Omega factory in Switzerland. The 34,5mm case houses an Omega cal. 501 automatic movement with an impressive 46 hour power reserve and is running perfectly. In contrast to many Omega Trésor models this watch is a centre-seconds model.
A lot of Omega Trésor watches, including this one, have a 2 tone dial. The deeply aged champagne centre and a darker outer rim make this model truly outstanding. The darker outer rim contains highly polished arrow indicis and a very rare feature: Applied 3,6,9 and 12 markers! With beautiful intact patina on the lume in the hour and minute hands this watch has aged perfectly in the last 65 years. This watch features a plexiglass crystal with a small scratch at the 3 o’clock position. The case is in excellent condition having very little marks or scratches. The dial is in untouched condition and has aged very well. The caseback features a personal engraving we can only assume was meant for a venezualan watch enthusiast. A special wrist piece with a cool history!
