The Omega brand has been around since 1848 when Louis Brandt opened his first workshop in Switzerland. Over the years Omega has become one of the most iconic and successful Swiss luxury watchmakers in the world. Creating beautiful watches such as the Speedmasters, Seamasters and ofcourse the Genève watches such as this one.
This Omega Genève 166.0173 from 1974 stands out with its classic style, featuring a Cal 1012 movement, 36mm case size and an integrated bracelet. The beautiful denim blue dial has custard lume plots which have seeped under some of the hour markers. It also features a smooth bezel, along with white hands that are the correct hands for this watch and finish the look of this Genève. The overall condition of this watch is excellent, with a bit of stretch on the bracelet and a case in beautiful condition. The denim blue dial looks fantastic with the contrast between some of the lume and the deep blue color.
The integrated bracelet on this watch makes for a seamless blend between the case and bracelet, providing for a more elegant and refined look. Integrated bracelets are also more comfortable than traditional buckle-type bracelets as they sit more flush on your wrist, which reduces irritation from movement or bending. The Omega Genève 166.0173 is a great example of Omega’s history with integrated bracelets, and provides an alluring aesthetic to this classic timepiece.
