Vintage Omega BK2809-5 1950

A stunner from the early days, certainly something you could say about this incredible Omega sub seconds dress watch. Made in 1950 this elegant but simple watch surely dressed someone with class. The gorgeous sub dial laying deep into the creamy dial combined with rose gold accents make this watch something exquisite.

Fitted inside the 38.5mm stainless steel case is the rock solid cal. 265 hand wound movement. Placed on top of the dial are beautifully rose gold coloured hour markers and hands and an applied Omega logo. Another special feature of this watch are the rare curved lugs giving this, for the time it was made in, ¨oversized¨ watch a more dressy look. To top it all off is the old school thin crown at the 3 o’clock position. The condition of this piece is good, the case received a little bit of polishing in its lifetime and the dial has some damage at the 3 o’clock position.

What we love:

  • Beautiful rose gold details
  • Rare curved lugs
  • ¨Oversized¨ case of 38.5mm

What you should know:

  • Little bit of damage on the dial at the 3 o’clock position

OMEGA

Omega is one of the most iconic Swiss luxury watchmakers currently around. Based in Bienne, Switzerland and founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. Omega was formally known as “La Generale Watch Co.” until incorporating the name Omega in 1903, when they became Louis Brandt et Frère – Omega Watch & Co. In 1982, the company officially changed its name to Omega SA.

Notable lovers of Omega watches:

Britain’s Royal Flying Corps chose Omega watches in 1917 as its official timekeepers for its combat units, as did the U.S. Army in 1918. Omega watches were the choice of NASA and the first watch on the Moon in 1969. In addition, Omega has been the official timekeeping device of the Olympic Games since 1932. James Bond has worn it in films since 1995; other famous Omega wearers, past and present, include Buzz Aldrin, George Clooney, John F. Kennedy, Mao Zedong and Elvis Presley.
