Description

The Seamaster line, introduced in 1948, represents Omega’s commitment to crafting robust dive watches capable of enduring the demanding conditions of underwater exploration. It swiftly garnered acclaim among divers and adventurers for its resilience and reliability.

Presenting the Omega Seamaster 2869, a vintage timepiece originating from 1956. Encased in stainless steel with a modest 34mm diameter, it houses the esteemed Omega caliber 501 movement—a hallmark of precision and performance. Adorning the dial is the original black cross-hair design, a rare and distinctive trait that adds character and exclusivity to this watch. The dial also boasts an applied Omega logo and arrow hour markers with intact lume plots, which have developed a warm patina over time. Further enhancing its vintage appeal are the aged dauphine hands with intact lume.

This stunning Seamaster 2869 retains its original Omega-signed crown which is a Naiad crown. These crowns were used by Omega in the 1950s as a alternative to waterproofing the watch with a screw-down crown. Ultimately this technology didn’t work as well as intended. The case back bears the engraving ‘J. G. GRUNWALDT,’ infusing a personalized touch and tracing its storied history. Presented in mint condition, with sharp lugs and a flawlessly preserved black gilt dial, this timepiece is a testament to meticulous care.

Completing its allure is a generic riveted Oyster bracelet, ensuring both comfort and sophistication for the discerning wearer. If you seek a vintage Seamaster that seamlessly combines exceptional condition with a distinctive dial, look no further than the Omega Seamaster 2869—an extraordinary timepiece destined to captivate aficionados and collectors alike.
