In the late 1960s the Omega Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon, the first Boeing 747 took flight and overall business was booming. Imagine walking past an Omega boutique and seeing this stunning dresswatch in the window display. Mesmerised by its beauty you buy this Omega Seamaster 136.011. Since it was bought, this classic dresswatch has aged like a fine wine. With creamy lume plots, sharp indices and hands and an applied Omega logo this watch is a showstopper. This specific example is from 1969 and has a special feature. The dial has the name “Genève” while the caseback features the Seamaster/Hippocampus logo making this a rare transitional model. Transitional models were released during a limited timeframe at the end of the 60’s: providing a more affordable watch (the Geneve) than the expensive Seamaster line. The 34,5 mm case shows minor wear and is in overall great condition. This lovely minimalist wrist piece houses the very reliable Cal 613 manual wound movement with a quickset date function. This watch is paired with a light blue leather strap and was fully serviced in October 2021.
