Omega is a Swiss watch company with a long and storied history. Founded in 1848, the brand has become synonymous with luxury timepieces of superior quality, craftsmanship and precision engineering.
The Omega Genève 135.041 from the 1969 is an iconic example of a timeless vintage style watch which combines classic design elements with modern innovation. Featuring a stainless steel 34mm case with a high quality caliber 601 movement inside. On top of this powerhouse of a movement sits the silver dial which has an applied omega logo and pencil hands with lume inside. This beautiful entry-level Omega watch offers premium performance as well as great aesthetics at an accessible price point.
Additionally, its thick hour markers feature black lacquer inside along with a lume dot at the end for enhanced visibility in low light conditions. Finally, the look is completed with an Omega signed crown. The Ref. 135.041 was introduced by Omega in 1968 and has since become a legendary timepiece for watch enthusiasts around the world.
The rare thing about this watch is the fact that the caseback was made-to-order by Omega for Mr. Yoshiki Takahashi from the Yomiuri Scholarship Foundation (Yomiuri Ikuei Shõgaku-kai). This must have been an extremely expensive option at the time and even rarer for an “entry-level” watch like the Geneve.
